Just a wee update: You can find me over at my new Tumblog now, called Communities First. As you may have figured out, I’m extremely (okay, bordering on insanely) interested in branded and not-so-branded communities. That means online, offline, through Twitter, Facebook, Ning, at your local coffee shop, in line at the grocery store, whatever it may be. I think the idea of community is what will buoy us as people as we navigate through the clutter of brand-centered messages and other crap that gets thrown in our face on a daily basis.
The blog centers around a simple idea: Communities should come first before products. I believe this firmly. If you don’t participate in a community and exist within it, how on earth are you going to create a product that serves it? I also believe that community building and growth hacking (however much of a buzzword it may be) are inextricable from one another. Growth hacking just gets way more street cred. So own it. If you’re a community manager and you’re good at what you do, you’re a growth hacker.
So find me on Tumblr, sharing my own thoughts on pieces around the web. It’ll be community- and growth hacking-focused content-curation central. Say hi! Ask me a question! Or just read it a bit! I’ll be happy either way.
